Audience Fit
This session is designed for youth and young adults stepping into leadership roles for the first time, including student leaders, young entrepreneurs, team leads, volunteers, and emerging professionals who want to lead confidently while staying true to who they are.
Purpose of the Session
Young leaders often feel pressure to lead like someone else—louder, older, more confident, or more experienced. At the same time, they are balancing identity development, relationships, responsibilities, and expectations. This session helps youth and young adults understand that leadership does not require pretending or overpowering others. Instead, it focuses on recognizing personal strengths, understanding how focus works, and using Immersive Interest to guide leadership decisions, projects, and teamwork.
Abstract
Leadership for youth and young adults is often learned through trial and error. Many capable young leaders struggle with confidence, decision-making, and managing different personalities—especially when they care deeply about fairness and belonging. This session introduces Immersive Interest as a practical leadership approach that helps young leaders understand what energizes them, where they focus best, and how to use those strengths to guide others. Rather than forcing leadership styles or copying models that don’t fit, participants learn how curiosity, deep engagement, and natural interest can shape effective leadership. The session explores how to balance personalities, guide group work, and lead projects with clarity and follow-through—while staying authentic.
